OK, this isn't true AT ALL - i actually WANTED to pay full price for the
audio product, including shipping.
My issue was with delivery times, and i just asked if someone (AT IP
EXPERT) could make an iso or nero image of them (THE CD'S THAT I WANTED
TO PAY FOR) that i could download instead of waiting for physical
product (it was less than 2 weeks till my exam, and it would take
shipping and australian customs about that long to learn what a CD was
:)
I told Wayne back then that i had nothing but complete respect for the
product you created, and that you deserved to be rewarded accordingly. I
gave him my word that i would NOT purchase any pirated materials, and I
have stuck to that 100%.
i do NOT think that piracy or copyright infringement is funny, however i
have to admit that the concept of the FBI working closely with the
Victorian police force in Australia over a case of piracy (that never
happened) makes me laugh. a lot.
I know that i asked for something outside "the norm" from IP Expert.
This was something that was unable to be provided, and I understand and
respect that - and i have not/will not go to illegal measures to work
around this.
By the same token, i went and asked for something out of "the norm" from
Internetwork Expert as well, and they were pleased to help and
incredibly accomodating. That's service, and that's the most important
thing in all of this.
I really don't care which instructors have passed more CCIE tracks
because, to me, you're all elite - much MUCH better than me !! When it
came to choosing a company that provided training, I needed to look for
someone that could accommodate my needs and satisfy the requirements,
and in this case it happened to be Internetwork Expert. (after all, i
can only talk from personal experience).

Now children....
Somehow I think the commentary is revolving around not knowing the whole
story (nor do I particularly care), but it's probably a better move to
leave
the personal attacks out of things.
By the same token, we could all share in the amusement Marc that you
used
your knowledge of the piracy "contact" to negotiate cheaper prices on
things
from Wayne. But that doesn't seem incredibly professional to bring up
either, does it?
Let's just leave things be.
Congrats on passing your lab! THAT is something worth talking about!

Hey everyone,
just passed my first attempt in sydney and wanted to thank a few
people...
firsly, thanks to the Brians at Internetwork Expert. They always went
the
extra mile in making sure that their services were top shelf! I'd like
to
publicly thorougly recommend them to anyone searching for an
organisation to
assist them with ccie training !!
When i was deciding which training organisation to use, i looked for
much
more than who had what certifications. Remember, all these guys know
MORE
than enough to get any of us through the CCIE training. The most
important
thing to me was dealing with people that would respond to my questions,
be
understanding of my situation (being on the other side of the world is
never
easy), and actually provide a high quality
service. In these requirements, as well as their technical knowledge,
Internetwork Expert have exceeded my expectations in every way.
To Racktime Rentals - thanks for making sure i always had a high speed,
high
quality rack to practice on.
To all the people on this list, thanks for the assistance with the many
technical questions that i asked, and even more thanks to a few of you
for
the motivation and support during many long 12 hour nights of studying !
And finally, to Wayne at IP Expert - thanks for making me laugh so hard
when
you CC'd my email to the FBI !!!!! It was a very welcome humourous
relief to
the hours of studying, and while i truly wish you had something better
to do
with your time, i do appreciate it. By the way, i still haven't heard
from
your "Agency contact" that was going to call me immediately - would you
like
me to call her instead ? 8-)
All the best to everyone, and i look forward to contributing more to the
list as time goes on.
regards,
-marc.
