There have been some cases of this happening, but it turns into a nightmare as
whenever there are BGP Problems, either provider can point finger at the other.
Both providers will have to strip the private-AS, and also make sure to filter
them out, further, they will have to both consistently announce your IP space at
same prefix length. This works OK, but now you are creating inconsistent-AS
situation on the internet. Incon-ASes aren't illegal, but its often regarded as a Bad Thing(TM).
And lastly, you will have to make sure both providers agree on what private AS
you use.
All in all, if you are multihomed, contact your respective RIR to get a real
AS. It's easier to deal with afterwards.
