CLNS Routing is only necessary if you wish to actually route CLNS. CLNS as
a protocol is no longer covered on the lab, so the short answer would be no.
In order to route ip over isis, it simply happens to be carried over CLNS.
That doesn't mean you are routing clns.
With frame maps or dialer maps, however, those are necessary to enable the
L2 protocol broadcasts on that link, which is how clns carries things. So
you must have those.

I am confusing when refer to some sample of config at CCO and books about
ISIS.
1) Is clns routing is must to turn on in ISIS router ?
2) For point to point leased line, does "clns router isis" necessary to
apply at interface ?
3) for frame-relay circuit , does "frame-relay map clns XX " is a must. If
yes why ?
