Doc CD's master command index search on 'auto-cost' does not mention anything
about having to do this on all routers in the ospf domain (but I am sure
other bright people here can find this info on Doc CD since i am not very
acquainted with that CD yet). However, in my guess, I think you should do
this on all routers in the OSPF domain for optimal operational design, like
you said.
If you have a router that is adjusting cost based on GigE link in an OSPF
domain while all other routers are referencing cost based on FE link, it
sounds like SPF getting prepared to just about to take a hike :P
