EIGRP hello's

Hi group,

From the first lab in the new CCIE Practise Book (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/1587051478/qid=1090681131/sr=8-2/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i2_xgl14/102-2968721-5624117?v=glance&s=books&n=507846#product-details)

"Configure R8 to have an EIGRP hello interval of 25 seconds on its Ethernet0/0 interface"

Simple enough, but the solution mentions that the hello interval of all neighboring routers (R6 in this case)
also has to be changed/adjusted in order to avoid "flapping" neighbors and routes ??

It was my understanding that the hello+hold timers could be different between neighbors in EIGRP.
(the hello packets include the hold interval, so the receiving router has no problems with a hold interval
different than its own).

Actually, i have configured them differently in my lab (hello+adjusted hold), and my adjacencies don't flap at all.

Am i missing something here ? And what to do in the real lab ??

Regards,
Geert
