Subject: Static - AutoRp- sparse mode
Hi group,
i'm working on cisco document "How to Configure a RP for PIM Sparse mode"
and my attention is on point n0 9 of document "Static- AutoRP-sparse mode".
In that scenario all routers are configured with a unique static rp address
for the AutoRP groups (224.0.1.39 and 224.0.1.40), and moreover filtering
to accept from that rp only that group.
Eg:
All router have:
ip pim rp-address 20.0.0.2 1
ip pim rp-announce-filter group-list 1
access-list 1 permit 224.0.1.39
access-list 1 permit 224.0.1.40
Moreover the RP:
interface Loopback0
ip address 20.0.0.2 255.255.255.255
ip pim sparse-mode
...
....
ip pim rp-address 20.0.0.2 1
ip pim rp-announce-filter group-list 1
access-list 1 permit 224.0.1.39
access-list 1 permit 224.0.1.40
If I have understood that, this is a way to 'configure statically on all
router, the RP used to discover the automatically The 'real' RP (eg. for a
given group)'; I don't see it in the document, but i imagine that I'll have
to configure
on one of the routers (eg. Router 36b) with autorp command for a fixed group
(for simplicity both candidate and mapping agent), eg. 239.1.2.3.
ip pim send-rp-announce ... scope 32 group-list 10
ip pim send-rp-discovery ... scope 32
access-list 10 permit 239.1.2.3
Please , if someone read the doc. Clarify me this point......
Cheer
Tony
