No... They are two completely different topics.
Many people get them confused because they both sorta relate to IP. :) LAM
is older, and is really a mobile ARP through /32 IP redistribution within an
enterprise network. This has been a fair topic on the R&S forever.
Mobile IP on the other hand is really designed for mobility throughout a
service provider network, like moving between cell towers but keeping your
connection and deals with a more internet-wide version of /32
care-of-address routing.
So while they may appear similar in a very generic format, they are two
completely different topics.
LAM is under the Configuring IP Addressing link on the same page.

Subject: Re: RE: IP Mobile notes please..
Once a did a lab where a goal was to set up Mobile IP. The answer was quite
simple, located at Doc CD --> IP Configuration Guide --> Part 1: IP
Addressing & Services --> Configuring IP Addressing -> Configuring
Local-Area Mobility
I was looking for something more elaborated, searching at Doc CD --> IP
Configuration Guide --> Part 1: IP Addressing & Services --> Configuring
Mobile IP
I am still trying to figure out the main difference of the two sites. For
sure the second really goes deeper on the subject, but the solution used on
that lab could not be solved just reading it, without a command present on
the first site.
