Where to apply Route maps

Hi,

When you create route maps for policy-based routing, is it important
whether you apply it to the main interface or subinterfaces?

eg.
int s0
 encap frame
int s0.1 point-to-point
 ip address 10.0.0.2 255.255.255.0
int s0.2 point-point
 ip address 172.16.0.1 255.255.0.0

So if I apply the route-map to the main interface s0, will it be effective
on int s0.1 and s0.2 too?
