Congratulations! It's times like this that tell me some late nights
at the computer are worthwhile (although tonight that's probably due
to the air conditioner blower being on strike).

I can't speak for all of us, but for me, there's a certain
professional -- in the best sense of the word -- to paying forward
some of the people that mentored and inspired me, sometimes with just
a short conversation at the right time, and sometimes for years of
guidance. Just to name a few, Carl Hammer, Grace Hopper, Irv Cohen,
Herb Klein, Vint Cerf, Harvey Deitel, Neal Seitz, Scott Bradner, Sue
Hares, Gordon Clogston, Kip Peterson, Silvana Romanigno, Curt
Freemyer, and many others. It's been fun to be at some of the
beginnings, before the internet was the Internet, the TCP/IP
Interoperability Conference was Interop, and packet switched networks
used X.25 switches and IMPs with the odd fuzzball. Thanks all.
