RE: CCIE R/S Lab Study San Diego, Ca

I passed the written in December of last year. Although the chances of
passing on the first try are small, I would hate to limit myself by thinking
that I will not do it. Many others have passed first try so it is not
impossible although I admit unlikely. I also know a few CCIE's some that
have passed recently. I think that with the tips that they and others like
you can offer I could have a pretty good chance. I sort of assumed that
anyone who answered my post would have some length of experience and time
dedicated to passing the lab. I do not think anyone would have any
expectancy to pass the lab if they just recently passed the written. I also
agree that there is a difference in learning capacity between individuals. I
just thought it might be nice to have someone to bounce ideas and questions
off of. From your post I am assuming that you are volunteering to
participate in this sort of discussion in some manner. If that is true send
me a unicast (e-mail).

I live in Whittier, just a couple hours north of you. If you have just
passed your written, you will probably not pass on your first attempt in
October, let alone September, and certainly not with other neophytes.

Meetings with other candidates will be motivate you more than anything. You
can go over configs and clear up some confusion. Doing the same exercise at
the same time, however, will slow you both down. One of you is going to pick
up things quicker than the other, and it will just turn into a tutorial.

I don't mind doing that myself, since I've taken the test a few times and
know a lot more than if I had passed on the first try.

The road to CCIE is very lonely. Ask anyone here.
