 If passwords are in use, an MD-5 hashed value is included in the VTP
advertisement.

Syntax Description:

password
 Set the password for the generation of the 16-byte secret value used in
MD5 digest calculation to be sent in VTP advertisements and to validate
received VTP advertisements.
 
password-value
 ASCII string from 8 to 64 characters. The password is case sensitive.

I am looking for the commands to use MD5 authentication for VTP
messages.
The 3550 command line has provision for ascii password.
