It's a LOT easy to find a woman and get married, if you ask me. I should know.

Take heart, my friend, most of us have been where you are once (or many)
times already. My last attempt (third) sounds somewhat like yours, it was
the first time I actually thought I had a shot at passing, but felt enough
misgivings to not be certain.

My second failure was the one that made me want to totally quit, I hit some
major snags because I didnt know the caveats of some protocols. There will
always be surprises, but I think the reason we all are advised to "study
everything" is to minimize the surprises. Actually my third attempt was the
first time I was REALLY ready.

You know, at times, the CCIE is a lot like dating and getting married. You
have a certain idea how things are supposed to work, but you always have to
read between the lines. Frequently you dont take something seriously
enough, or at others you overanalyze something simple. Finally, you are
expected to read someone elses mind and do the "right" thing without always
knowing if its the right thing, which you "should" have known to begin with.

Come to think of it, the CCIE is brutally easy when compared to
understanding the opposite sex.....

:)
