The concept of the voice vlan is to separate the voice traffic from data.
The concept of trunking is to accept the class of service priority within
the frame header 2-byte tag. If the phone is setting the IP precedence or
DSCP in the IP header, the switch would accept it if the access port is
configured to "trust". You can, however, mark the incoming priority down
or up. Tell me exactly what you are trying to achieve, and what switch
platform you are using.
