Richard and Group,

You have to look at it the way I do... It's all about the journey and look at how much you are learning in the process... I have to hand it to the lab that they will not simply "pass through" someone that's anything less than an expert.

For those that have taken the lab 2+ times, think of how much more you know now than you did when you took each of your attempts... I know if I had passed the first time, I wouldn't have been as focused as I have been since I am trying again... I also know so much more than I did then, and I almost feel like I would've been doing a "disjustice" to those certified if I were equals with them (having a number) and yet knew so little (as compared with what I know now).

The harder and more effort any goal requires, the more it is worth and the better the feeling of accomplishment that comes along with achieving that goal. You just cannot give up. I'm a big proponent of famous quotes, two of which I refer to often are "The only unattainable goal is the one not attempted" as well as a famous quote from Albert Einstein, "I am not really smart. I just stick with problems longer."

Live by those quotes, believe in yourself, keep chugging forward and never look back, and you will succeed in ALL of your goals... one of which will be your coveted number...

Oh, and by the way, I'm DYING to write my success story... I have just one thing to do before that... ;-)

Good Luck to all!
Ken

Has anyone who has passed the lab had a good experience ? If so then please
tell us your story, I am starting to get depressed,

I'd agree with that point - I think that you should feel very compfortable
with all the labs in your favourite lab scenario workbook (or workbooks),
and should be able to complete them well within the time specified.

And, of course, make sure you understand *why* each task in each scenario is

completed in the way specified in your lab solutions.

Once you are able to complete your labs as described above, it's a good idea

to follow all the links from the online resources section of the r&s ccie
webpage & confirm that you have extensively practiced all the subjects
listed in the lab exam blueprint.

When I did my lab (many moons ago), I prepared assuming that I wouldn't have

any time at all to reference the CD in the lab. Some people prepare assuming

that they'll have time to just reference anything they don't know on the CD,

but I personally think this may be a mistake - it may lead you to be
        complacent.

        Hope that helps,

        Mark
