You know what the best story is? It's that you will pass if you put in the time and effort... and it will be the best feeling in the world when you do. I put in the effort and passed the CCIE Security. Last Friday I failed the R&S for the first time and I was bummed because I really believed that I passed having left the lab. But that's the nature of the game. I must have missed something because I goofed on the understanding of a requirement. Or maybe I just don't have the deep level of understanding required for the R&S. But I'll get there and when I do it'll feel great. You just can't give up or get discouraged. If it were easy to get it wouldn't be worth having. No body on this board is average, average people don't even attempt the CCIE. Just remember that when the chips are down and you'll make it.

Good luck!
