RE: Voice vlan setting

Probably a stupid question, but since I've never worked with an IP-Phone
might as well ask it :

Are all these commands executed on the catalyst switch ? I find it rather
strange that the "phone overrides pc traffic" with a command executed on the
catalyst switch. Is this right, does the phone "know" what to do with COS
because of the command on the catalyst, or does the catalyst does this job
and not the phone ?

Koen.

Do you want the pc attached to the phone to be trsuted by the phone ? If yes
then you need "switchport priority extend trust". Then the switch will trust
both the voice and the pc thx to "mls qos trust cos".
If not then just "mls qos trust cos" as the phone will override pc traffic
to COS 0,
