out there. If you want something that collects logs from various
devices and correlates them and reports on the results then you should
look at packages such as NETiq Security Reporting Center -

compare
to Check Point log viewer, as later presents the log clearly by columns.

Why the desire to avoid a syslog server? There are many free ones that
would allow you to collect and view syslogs from the PIX.
