No but when you then go and create the SVI, it will always be up:
Note there are no ports assigned to VLAN 100:
SW1#sho vlan
[--snippage--]
VLAN Name Status Ports
10 VLAN0010 active Fa0/10
100 VLAN0100 active
1002 fddi-default act/unsup
1003 token-ring-default act/unsup
1004 fddinet-default act/unsup
1005 trnet-default act/unsup
[--snippage--]
But it's up/up (All I did was an "int vlan 100" in config):
SW1#sho int vlan 100
Vlan100 is up, line protocol is up
Hardware is EtherSVI, address is 000d.edbd.7500 (bia 000d.edbd.7500)
MTU 1500 bytes, BW 1000000 Kbit, DLY 10 usec,
reliability 255/255, txload 1/255, rxload 1/255
Encapsulation ARPA, loopback not set
ARP type: ARPA, ARP Timeout 04:00:00
[--snippage--]
HTH!
