BSR works by using a forward mechanism of local-link multicasts (224.0.0.x),
so your pim mode of sparse or dense really has nothing to do with the
processing of the packets. They, by default, will be a TTL=1 message.

So with that technicality in mind, yes, you will work in sparse-only mode.

according to doc CD for PIM v2, sparse-dense is a must.
