Opposite direction... IP Phone must do dot1q trnuking with the switch. On
the 3550, you can leave it alone and dynamic ports work fine. On other
switches (including the NM-16ESw module on the 3700) you must explicitly put
it in trunk mode or things won't work.

It's a long week though. :)

Ahmed,

When configuring voice vlan you will need to configure the port as an
access port. Check out the voice vlan section of the 3550 configuration
guide.
