I passed the lab in San Jose, on Monday, May 3rd. I passed on a re-read, so
it's not an impossible feat to accomplish. I felt really good leaving the
lab, and I just couldn't find it within myself to be satisfied with failure
when feeling I had actually passed the lab.
I couldn't have done it without the excellent training provided by
Internetworkexpert. I have seen, although I don't own, most of the vendor's
training materials out in the market, and I really LEARNED from
Internetworkexpert's labs. I really did some strong comparisons among the
different products by looking at sample labs, etc.; and I found their
product
to be error free and well written, so I felt like I got a great deal on
their
workbook. The answer keys are excellent and well laid out with great
explanations of each section. If you can do their labs, especially labs 12
through 20, you will be ready for the real thing. For 3 months prior to my
exam date, I used one day each weekend to do a full 8-hour scenario from
their
workbook, and they gave me a great deal on rack times. I also, with the
help
of my company, purchased lab grading, which made a HUGE difference for me.
Brian D. and Brian M. both provided excellent feedback and let me know where
I
needed improvement. I will say it again, their product is second to NONE.
I
also sat their 5-day Workshop about 8 months ago; and it was also an
excellent
class. The labs were tough, and they provided excellent score reports and
feedback.
I look forward to seeing their Voice workbook. I would also like to thank
CCOnline labs. Tony was easy to work with, and although I used his racks
only
one time, it was a crucial time for 4-hours 2 days before the exam to just
practice speed. Jeff Kessemeyer at Bradshawlabs also provided some great
assistance, and he was very helpful and courteous. I didn't actually get to
use my rack time due to a double booking of the time slot, but Jeff was the
consummate professional and refunded my money and provided some excellent
labs
at no charge to me. So, a big thanks to those two professionals.
One last thing, don't ever give up, if you think you passed, pay the money
for
the re-read. I decided that it would at least give me some extra peace of
mind even if I didn't pass, and I did pass! Not only did I get my peace of
mind, I got my number!
Oh, I am not affiliated or employed by any of the companies above, but it is
always worth mentioning when you have the opportunity to work with
professional people and their products...especially when they make a big
difference for you.
Now, I will have a CCIE medal to go with the IRONMAN Triathlon finisher's
medal hanging in my office. Back to swimming, biking, and running for some
fun! Voice track at a later date.
I would like to wish all of you continued success in your quest for a
number(s).
