Some of my scoring was low, especially in sections that I thought I did well
on during the exam. So, I requested the re-read, and I tried to be
courteous and highlight areas that I thought I did well on; and I elaborated
on why I did certain things a certain way. I think Cisco really wants
people to be successful, but I did have to stay with it...meaning I had to
keep believing in myself and the fact that I believed I passed the exam.
The CCIE re-read team was very courteous in their replies, and again, I
really believe that Cisco wants us to be successful in the lab.
I think in some cases, like my first two attempts, I KNEW that I didn't pass
for a reason. I didn't do some things correctly, and on those first two
attempts, everything wasn't working per the requirements when I left the
exam. But the 3rd time, I just felt like I had passed the exam; and I kept
after it. I finished 2 hours early, and I kept checking things over and
over again, and it seemed to be working per the requirements of the lab.
Although I don't care to repeat the experience, I'm glad I stayed with it.
And, even if I hadn't passed, the re-read would have given me some sense of
peace about the exam.
Good Luck,
Jason
