Hi,
I don't remember all the specifics, but there are certain pre-requisites
that must be met before you can form an EtherChannel. It also depends on
whether you're trying to create a L3 or L2 etherChannel. In the chapter on
EtherChannels in the 3550 Config Guide, look for the Guidelines section and
make sure you're meeting all the pre-req's.
With ceratin exceptions, all the physical ports have to have the same config
eg, if one port is configured as a trunk that allows certain vlan's, they
must all be trunks and allow the same vlan's.
But, again, refer to the config guide for all the details ( there are plenty
of them.) :-)
