RE: INTERNETWORK IOS for 2500 Series

Unfortunately, the 2500's are becoming less and less usable for the CCIE lab
preparation. Until the official 12.2T testing date, they still have a
little usefulness in some older lab workbooks.

Cisco did something different this year.

In the past, when cisco stated what version they will be testing on, it was
assumed that to learn all of the commands for that version, you needed the T
train which contained all of the new commands.

This year, cisco actually came out and stated that they would be testing on
the T train on a certain date instead of moving on to the next version.
This indicates that they were not testing on about 80% of the new 12.2
commands.

Lucky for those that test before the 12.2T date and not so lucky for those
that will test after.

As far as Internetwork Expert, they are using 12.2T for their R&S workbook.
Obviously, since the 2500's will not run a T IOS, most of the commands will
not be available that are required for their labs. To complete their labs,
you will need at least 2600's or better.

Good luck to you.

Running 12.2(19) which I would have thought has most features. Obviously I
still dont uderstand the IOS roadmap.

Thanks

Sam

Which IOS are you running? You may want to look at 12.2(1)d
or a T train in 12.1 track.
