Hello Team,
I have my lab exam coming up in a few days, just wanted some input,
don't have much experience with this command, I am studying on the
documentation cd:
To accept all RPs advertised with Auto-RP and reject all other RPs by
default, use the ip pim accept-rp auto-rp command.
If all interfaces are in sparse mode, a default RP is configured to
support the two well-known groups 224.0.1.39 and 224.0.1.40. Auto-RP
relies on these two well-known groups to collect and distribute
RP-mapping information. When this is the case and the ip pim accept-rp
auto-rp command is configured, another ip pim accept-rp command
accepting the default RP must be configured, as follows:
ip pim accept-rp <default RP address> 1
access-list 1 permit 224.0.1.39
access-list 1 permit 224.0.1.40

Ok,
I have used the following:
To accept all RPs advertised with Auto-RP and reject all other RPs by
default, use the ip pim accept-rp auto-rp command.
And I understand this part and what it does.

I just want to clarify the second part of this statement:
ip pim accept-rp <default RP address> 1
access-list 1 permit 224.0.1.39
access-list 1 permit 224.0.1.40

The doccd states that this is used when you want to accept Auto-RP when
in sparse mode.
So if interface is in sparse-dense mode this does not apply.
Again I am just looking for clarification and interpretation skills,
here.
A bit nervous my lab is in a few days.
I thank you all for your support and time.
Sincerely,
Matijevic
