Tim,

The UDP unicast feature is normally used instead of TCP because of
situations where it is more efficient

But there are situations in which it is not possible to use this feature
like when a firewall in the middle won't allow it

Subject: Dlsw GOTCHA

Hey guys,

I think I just learned about a major dlsw GOTCHA.

Regardless of what type of encap is used when Dlsw is configured, some dlsw
traffic still uses UDP for things like "canureach" and "Netbios reachability
requests".

Therefore, if anything in the dlsw imply or require always reliable, then
UDP must be disabled with "dlsw udp-diabled".

Here's my question: Is there any reason I shouldn't just automatically
diable UDP if DLSW is on my next lab attempt and thereby protect myself from
stupidily losing points I would otherwise get?

Thanks in advance, Tim
