Hi Charles,

Have you created the vlan in global configuration on the VTP server?

conf t
vlan 10
end

Try "show int trunk", "show vtp status" on the VTP client and "show vlan" to
see if the VLAN is there at the VTP level.

Cheers,
Ato.

Subject: Cat 3500 VLAN remains shutdown

I have a Cat 3550 and 3500. The 3550 is server, the 3500 client. The
domain name and passwork are the same. There is a dot1q trunk between
them and they seem to pass all VLAN info. On the 3500 when I defined
vlan ip address info that is ok but they remain in shutdown mode after a "no
shut".
