Last time I looked, if you wanted to play with OSPF, you'd need the 506 or
above...

If you want to play with VLANs, you'll need the 515 or above.

And of course, to play with DMZs, you'll need the 515 or above.

There is really no difference between 501 and 506 if you want to practice,
so buying 501 will save you some money; but to get to more advanced
features you need 515.
