It depends on where you configure the "backup interface" command.

If you configure the command in a FR physical interface you have to:

- Pull the cable off

OR

- Change your frame-relay lmi-type

Admin shutdown will not work with a FR physical iterface.

But if you configure the command in a FR subinterface, you can admin
shutdown the physical interface, then the subinterface will go down and the
backup will work.

In this case the "backup interface" command is in a subinterface.

If i'm wrong, please correct me.
