Whatever the web site mentions about that is all that I'm able to tell
you...

But I'm sure through terminal services or something like that, you'd be able
to accomplish both in a rental situation.

1 - As long as your IOS image supports the IPSec/IDS/Firewall feature set,
then you're cool to go
2 - You'll be tested on the IDS hardware as well, and the configuration is
completely different, so you'll need both
3 - It's on the lab. 3005 is cheapest
4 - All PIXen run the same images, so commands will be the same, you may
just be limited by interfaces or number of users (not a real problem for
lab)
5 - After July 1, I believe the web site says 6.3(3)
6 - Those aren't listed on the blueprint

If you have the $$$ to purchase all that stuff, knock yourself out, it's not
a bad investment. However, renting rack time is usually a more economical
way of doing things to study certain things (IDS/VPN Concentrator). They're
limited parts of the lab, and therefore may not be worth the money if you
are not independently wealthy. :)

A number of rack rental places hav security gear as well, sometimes in
limited sets.
