r1 should eventually resolve on the 1st or 3rd try.. with or without 'no ip domain-lookup' configured respectively.

Subject: Terminal Server w/ Domain Name

Hey guys,

This may sound like an elementary question, but I can't find documentation anywhere on cisco.com that explains this. When I have a terminal server, I have the following configuration:

ip host R1 2005 1.1.1.1

and when I type 'R1', I am connected via reverse telnet (aux port (line 5) and 1.1.1.1 is loopback).

However, I now added the command:

"IP domain-name CISCO"

Now how do I access the same router via reverse telnet? I've tried:

R1
R1.CISCO
CISCO.R1
CISCO

to no avail.

Any help is appreciated!
Ken :)
