Usually, the only time you can't claim the costs of your study/lab exam,
etc as deductions is when your "education costs" are not in your current
profession.
So if your worked on McDonalds, and you were studying for CCIE you can't
claim it as a education expense.
However, if you can prove that your in an industry thats anywhere close to
needing any network skills at all, you could claim it as a deduction no problem.
