Hi Shibu,
To me reachability means the following
1) For full IGP reachability:
You need to test that each interface can ping - or trace to - any other
interface on all the routers under your administration.
For example: If you have 5 interfaces/ router and the number of routers is 6
with 2 switches
then on avg you have about 30 - 40 interfaces to verify reachability too.
You need to use each of these IPs as source IP while testing all the
remaining IPs as destinations and so on. This is ofcourse is time consuming
that's why I don't believe exam time can tolerate this check many times
during the exam. Using TCLSH scripts is very useful with this and such check
will help you point out your mistakes.
2) For BGP Reachability
Make sure that routes received from each router are the ones supposed to be
abd that BB routes are propagated to all your routes. Unless otherwise
required.
3) Final check at the end of the exam will take into account the
interfaces/routes that were requested to be filtered.
It would be nice to hear comments about this.
Regards,
Yasser
