The spanning-tree path cost default value is derived from the media
speed of an interface.
Looking at your example the root STP path cost would be 10, assuming you
have only link to the root switch. You can verify path cost with show
spanning-tree.

I just forget how the path cost of STP is derived from. For example
Root Switch (Cost 1) ------------ (Cost 10) Switch B.
That means Root Switch have the interface set to cost 1, but Switch B
set
the cost to 10, and it is asymetric.
Question: What is the root path cost of Switch B, 1 or 10?
