But I think the command Gary was looking for is the one mentioned by Bob
Sinclair. With "transport preferred none" put, one needs to put the command
"telnet" ,

That'll do it, all right. When I remove 'no ip domain-lookup' it tries a
DNS lookup, but after a bit it finds the local host name and connects
via reverse telnet. See below:
