Hello,
The task states:
"Configure R1 so that it forwards Mobile IP registration broadcasts received in interface ATM0/0/0 to 10.10.10.10"
I was reading and re-reading RFC2002 and RFC3220 and they both say that Registration MAY be broadcast only if:
1) mobile node is registering with home agent
2) mobile node does not know the IP address of home agent and that's why home agent' subnet broadcast is used...
Therefore NO conifguration is necessary on R1 unless some strange things occur - i.e. subnet broadcast is converted somewhere along the way to ALL-1 (255.255.255.255) broadcast or NAT-ed to become subnet broadcast on R1' ATM0/0/0 interface.
In this strange case I think the following is necessary on R1:
1) "ip helper-address 10.10.10.10" on R1' ATM0/0/0
2) "ip forward-protocol udp 434" in R1' global config.
Comments, please?
Thanks very much for Your help in this matter,
Alex
