I do have active trunks. However, for one reason or another the VLANs
referenced by the SVI were not in the VLAN database. As soon as the VLANs
were readded and trunk were in up/up state the SVI attained up/up status.

One question: Does the VLAN matching the SVI have to be active on the trunk.
For instance, if I enable VTP pruning and the SVI VLAN is pruned, does will
the respective SVI change status to down?
