Normally I don't respond to stuff like this, but its simple business.
Cisco provides VARs with deep discounts for having certified people.
Certified people on Ciscos products also reinforces the marketability
and maintains market share for their products by saying, "Look, we have
people qualified to use our stuff correctly."
Understanding that this is good business for ANY vendors products
(weather its Jello, widgets, snow cones, automobiles, space shuttles, et
al.) the value for getting any certified is in the process, not the
product.
Its like getting a college degree. When your done you realize the
majority of the value was the process, not necessarily the degree.
That said, enjoy the process.
