While it would be very foolish to assume there is any such thing as job
security in this system of things the CCIE does give you a large measure of
respect & marketability.
I would call that an improvement in my professional life, all the more so
since the place I was working while I was studying for my CCIE told me the
cert was highly overrated & that I could work there the rest of my life &
never need to get ANY other cert !
The CCIE also makes job interviews much shorter.

There are many places (like the one I am working @) that will not even
interview you unless you have the CCIE.

Getting the CCIE has also been an improvement in my personal life as I can
be much more particular about how many hours I work & when.
Granted, there are some people who will work 60 hours a week even if they
have 6 CCIE's but that is their choice.
I am not above spending hours @ home looking into LSA's or IP NAT, but that
is my choice & television is boring.

One question I am burning to ask:

Have you CCIEs noticed an improvement in your professional lives since
getting the most coveted certification ?
