Since the ABR/ASBR generates the default route very much like the Stub or Totally Stubby areas..i think it should be done only on 3550.

Rx cannot be an ABR if you have "other routing protocols" attached to it. If
you take away the "other routing protoscols" then you can configure it with
area x nssa and put the area x nssa default-information-originate on the
cat3550 if it is connected to other protocols. And so on, and so on..... I
think NSSA was created to allow redistribution into a so-called "stub" area
and the ospf domain and still keep the database as small as possible.
