Below a snapshot from some comments I took about Multicast, I believe you
will find an answer to your question under Solution A guidelines point 1.
-------------
Running Multicast in NBMA network can cause issues like prune message sent
from a router will not be detected by other routers, can cause problems as
these routers will not send prune-override message, which leads to stop
multicast traffic. To solve this problem two solutions are available
A) Using ip pim nbma-mode:
Apply ip pim nbma-mode on all sub-interfaces in the FR-network. This will
cause prune message to be forwarded to all PIM routers.
Usage Guidelines for this solution:
1- This command is only applied in sparse-mode because its functionality
relies on the PIM sparse-mode join message. Using this command will allow
multicast traffic to be fast switched over Frame Relay network interfaces.
2- Inorder for Auto-RP work properly these guidelines should be done
Mapping Agent has to be connected to all RPs
Mapping Agent has to be connected to all PIM routers
(Configure the Loopback in sparse-dense mode)
B)Use Point-to-Point sub-interfaces:
