Hello, Group.

I was trying to boot a 4500 router using the IOS from the another 4500
router. Initially, I tried to do this across the serial and it worked very
slowly. My config looked like this.

Client:
boot system tftp <file name> 1.1.1.6

Server:
tftp server flash:<file name>

I then changed the config on the client to:

Client:
boot system tftp <file name> 255.255.255.255

This did not work at all across the serial.

I then tried to do it across the Ethernets with the same 255.255.255.255 and
this did not work. I changed the client to point to the actual IP across
the ethernet and it worked fine.

1. Why did it work so slowly across the serial?
2. Why did it not work at all across the serial while using a BC address?
3. Why did it not work across the Ethernet with a BC address. I have this
same setup for two 1750's where I use 255.255.255.255 across the ethernet
and it works fine. I've never tried it across the serials so I'm not sure
what would happen there.

Thanks,
Danny
