Thanks Kasturi,
But in my opinion both the routes:
- 10.0.0.0 AD 120
- 10.2.4.0 AD 1 are two different routes, are't they?
Why do't the router have them both in it routing table?
If both the routes were identical:
10.0.0.0 AD 120 & 10.0.0.0 AD 1
Or 10.2.4.0 AD 120 & 10.2.4.0 AD 1
I would have agreed with you view. But being two different routes i can't understand why is't the router able to have both of them in its rip database and routing table!!
Thanks
SAM

I think what is happening is you have 2 routes on R2 the 10.0.0.0/8 and the static route with 10.2.4.0. So bcoz the static route has a better AD than the Rx 10.0.0.0/8 route (120) the better route is the only one in R2s table. Hence u see only the static route.
Good Luck,
Kasturi.
