hi all,

im faced with an unusual problem experienced
particularly over 2950-24 switches in our network. We
are running spanning tree in full mesh for full
redundancy between two cisco 2950-24 switches and an
IBM blade center which has two switches in its chasis,
trunks are 802.1Q and overall the configuration is as
prescribed by the IBM redbooks. One of the Cisco
2950's has been manually configured to be the root.

The problem is with an IBM macaddress which somehow
seems to override the cisco management vlan macaddress
for both the switches because of which the cisco's
fail to respond to any icmp etc..(obviously) because
there are 3 devices on the network now with the same
ibm macaddress ( the two cisco's and one ibm
management module inside the bladecenter)...all
network traffic flows normally but only the cisco
management on both cisco's is lost due to this
macaddress ....

can someone please advise how a management vlan
macaddress on a cisco can be overwritten unless its
manually configured my the administrator !!!

i would really appreciate your help ....
