Guys..
While redistrebuting from any IGP into ISIS....we have two options-- either to choose L1 or L2!!

If i went for L2:
Then it works either i choosed internal or extenal route-type. Which is logic, Cause L2 can be both external or internal. I usually prefer to go for the external option. My question is when do u need to use "internal"!!

Onther question, is how can we check using a show command wheather an ISIS route is Internal or External?? I tired "sh ip route" and "sh ip route x.x.x.x", "sh isis database"....with no hope...!!

Secondly if i went to L1:
I never manage to get it to work. I think it is logic. Cause external routes can't be adv. as L1 routes in ISIS.

My quesion is...Why is the option available in the first palce in IOS??
Does it work? Where can it be used/ needed??

Thanks,
SAM
