I think that yr EIGRP conclusion is close to mine.

1st method: This method will work but only sets the
distance for internal (D) routes. If you need to have
(D EX) routes marked with a different distance, try to
change the AD in the other routing protocol, if
supported.
2nd method: Y
I think u r tying to say that we can't change the AD for the (D EX) routers!!
Is there any other experience here.!! Did anyone managed to change the AD for the (D EX) routes using the (Distance x ROUTER IP ) command!!
