Hi, group,
Happy new year!
On the first day of 2004, I got a little bit confused reading 3550 document
cd about COS.
We may set cos in a policy map by first allowing this globally:
mls qos cos policy-map
And then we may set the value in a policy map such as:
set cos 5
And in the command reference, it also says:
" If this policy map also has an action defined by the trust dscp policy-map
class configuration command, the switch uses the Differentiated Services
Code Point (DSCP)-to-CoS map to define the CoS value of a port. "
So from my understanding, the two command under policy map are mutual
excluded:
"set cos 5" vs. "trust ip dscp"
Or, at least, the first one would override the second one and when they are
used together, the second command only indicates that the dscp should not be
changed according to the new cos, as the interface command "mls qos trust
cos pass-through dscp" does.
Am I right? Or any comment?
Wish everybody got his number in this year!
Thanks,
Soup
