OT: monitoring the type of traffic consuming bandwidth

HI,

I want to see what type of traffic is consuming my bandwidth, like how much is
dns,mail and web are consuming. Any ideas what should I do, I am planning on
using netflow and flowtools. Kindly let me know if I have other options as
well and let me know if someone is already using it.
