Hi guys,
The way it appears to me based on my read of the documentation is that if
the interface is a layer 3 interface, then the igmp access-group command is
used as this command applies to routed interfaces only.
If the interface is a layer 2 interface, then the igmp filter command must
be used. But, to use this command you must also define a profile.

Furthermore, I would generalize this and say that if a command can be used
on router interface, then to use that same command on a 3550, the interface
must be a layer 3 interface ( which includes interfaces where the command,
"no switchport" has been entered or SVI's [int vlan X]).
If somebody knows differently, please say so.
