You didn't say how you invoked the menu. From a console session? From a
telnet session?

I always make sure that I have both telnet and console access, prior to
invoking a menu.

That way, if you start up the menu from a console session and it locks
you out, you can go to another machine, telnet into the locked up router
and clear line 0 (console). If you have telnetted in and it locks you
out, you can console in and clear the telnet line.

It's probably a good idea to always include a "menu-exit" command on
your console menu or "logout" for telnet menus.
